Roxann Benbow, is a graduate of the Palmer/Pletsch School of Sewing as a Certified Sewing Instructor. She will personally help you with fitting and sewing skills. Her background as a seamstress helps her tackle even the most unusual problems. Roxann has a easy going attitude and her down to earth style makes sewing fun.

ASC Sewing School Learn to Sew Series

Wednesdays 3 to 5:30

$90.00 a month on 2 1/2 hour class a week

The students will build confidence in sewing by learning how to use their sewing machine, basic stitches and techniques' in sewing a learning to read a pattern; build a binder with samples of techniques learned in class for future reference .

Beginner Projects will include an Market Bags, Apron and Pillowcases or other as agreed upon between student and instructor.

As the Students learn they will increase thier knowledge learning how to sew collars, elastic waist bands, pockets, button holes, and other specialty stitches and More there is no limit to how many techniques they can learn the longer they are in the sewing program.

Thursdays 1:30 to 4:00

$90.00 a month , one 2 1/2 hour class a week

the PalmerPletsch fitting method. In this class we will fit and alter the pattern to fit your body’s unique issues especially the bust line area. You will learn how to alter any pattern to make corrections for bust, waist, high round and round back issues as well as other problem areas you may have. Using the McCalls pattern #4518 you will make a long sleeve shirt. Once you have this master pattern fitted to your needs you will be able to make a shirt in about 4 hours.

Specilaty Classes coming soon

We will create a customized pattern which is fitted to your unique jeans fitting issues. Using McCall’s Palmer/Pletsch Jean Pattern #5894 sized by your hip measurement. We will tissue fit this pattern using the Palmer/Pletsch pattern fitting method. Then you will make a pair of jeans that fit just the way you want them to. In this class we will be using a double needle method of construction and customized pockets placed just where you want them .

You will learn Pant Pattern Fitting Using the Palmer/Pletsch pattern fitting methods, and sewing techniques , you will be tissue fitted in a simple pant and trouser pant. The pattern is altered to fit your body’s unique issues. Then you will cut it out in fabric, pit fit it the fabric and complete the pant with elastic waist or zipper and waistband using McCall’s pattern by Palmer/Pletsch #s M 5239 . Purchase pattern based on your fullest hip measurement or as close to that measurement that you can get.

REGISTRATION & CANCELATION POLICIES

ASC School of Sewing is approved for purchase orders for classes with clas
egistration fees must be paid at the time of registration on the payment page for classes. The cost of classes is $ 90.0 a month plus materials.
Students are required to be ready with materials for thier project on the first day of class.

Students will need a basic zigzag style sewing machine in good working condition; if one is not available the instructor has a few machines available for a use fee.

A material list will be given upon paid registration fees.

Classes fill up quickly so be sure to reserve your spot.

**Please note a min of 3 students required for classes, 7 days notice to cancel is required, No make up classes unless its for weather or pre approved 3 days in advance.

ADULT Sewing Series are Weekly Scheduled Classes, 2 1/2 hours each student can sew home decor or colthing items, classes are held at ASC School of Sewing in Wasilla

Wednesdays, Open Class 1 is 9:00 to 11:30
Series Class is 12:30 to 3:00
(there is a 4 students requirement to hold this class)

Description: There are 2 sessions on Wednesdays, weekly. Projects will be determined by students skill level.
